Understanding Credits

Credits are the currency of participation in AoEM Historian. They represent your contributions to the era and determine your priority for competitive MGE slots.

What Are Credits?

Credits are earned by participating in era activities and claimed through the bot. They:

  • Accumulate in your account over time
  • Are spent when applying for MGE slots
  • Reflect your contribution to the era
  • Determine priority for limited event slots

Earning Credits

You earn credits by:

  1. Completing activities - Rallies, donations, events, etc.
  2. Claiming participation - Click the Claim button on activity posts
  3. Receiving bonuses - Leaders can award extra credits for exceptional contributions

Default Credit Values

Activities are weighted by role. The defaults are:

RoleCreditsWhat it is
Primary15The week's headline event (KvK, GEE, Desolate Desert, etc.)
Weekly5Recurring smaller events (Wonder/Battle of Dawn, etc.)

Each MGE season runs 12 weeks (two 6-week stellar seasons). With perfect attendance — 10 primary + 20 weekly claims — you can earn approximately 250 credits per MGE season, plus any discretionary bonuses your leaders award.

info

Your era's leaders can adjust these values per activity with /season set-credits. Check the #activities channel to see current credit values for each activity.

Checking Your Balance

Use the credits command to see your balance:

/credits

This shows:

  • Current balance - Your total available credits
  • Recent transactions - The last 10 credit changes (earnings, spending, bonuses)

Spending Credits

Credits are spent when:

  1. MGE confirmation - Credits are deducted when a leader confirms the event results
  2. Leader adjustments - Rarely, leaders may adjust for corrections

MGE Slot Costs

When you apply for an MGE slot with /apply, the cost depends on the tier you select. At the default 5x multiplier:

TierCredit Cost
1st500
2nd400
3rd300
4th200
5th150
6-7100
8-1075

16-2550
26-5025

Credits are not deducted when you apply or get approved — they're deducted when the leader runs /mge-confirm after the event ends.

See MGE Events for details on the application process.

Credit Transactions

Every credit change is logged with:

  • Amount - How many credits were added or removed
  • Reason - Why the change happened
  • Date - When it occurred

This creates a transparent history that you and leaders can review.

Tips for Building Credits

Consistent Participation

Regular, consistent participation earns more credits over time than sporadic bursts of activity.

Don't Miss Claim Windows

Activities have limited claim windows (usually 2 days). Watch the #activities channel and claim promptly after participating.

Plan for MGE

Know when MGE events are coming and ensure you have enough credits saved. Use /slots to check upcoming events.

Common Questions

Can I transfer credits to another player?

No. Credits are tied to your individual account and cannot be transferred.

Do credits expire?

What if a leader gave me credits by mistake?

Leaders can use /bonus remove to reverse bonus awards if needed.
